Guru Nanak Dev Ji Langar Bus

Guru Nanak Dev Ji Langar Bus launched in November 2017 on Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s birthday. Guru Nanak Dev Ji is the founder of the Sikh faith, he was a Guru, teacher, poet, scientist and social reformer.

The Guru Nanak Dev JI’s Langar Bus was a project that was a long-term dream for MLSS. Particularly in the winter, we recognised that whilst at our street feeds, the homeless were incredibly cold whilst having their meal.

Also, we noticed that there was no where we could sit down with them discuss their situation and offer further support. We also thought the bus would make a good mobile feed location which enabled us to take langar anywhere! With the support of TSB when we won the Pride of Birmingham, we managed to finally put our bus on the road! In 2018 in heavy snow, whilst all public buses were ordered to be abandoned in Birmingham Town, we managed to get our bus to our Birmingham feed to ensure the service users and those stranded had some warmth. Fast forward to 2021 and the bus is being used by the Council and NHS to administer covid vaccines
